Project Director

Celeste Taylor has worked for more than twenty-five years to advance human and civil rights. She currently serves as the Project Director for REMP, the Vice Chairperson for Black Political Empowerment Project, and Director for Election Administration / Protection for PA Voice. Prior to this she worked with People For the American Way and its Foundation as the PA State Coordinator from 2006 to 2008. She also serves with A+ Schools, American Friends Service Committee (Mid-Atlantic region), and Black and White Reunion. Special recognition for her work includes Westinghouse High School Hall of Fame, New Pittsburgh Courier 50 Women of Influence and Excellence, League of Women Voters of Greater Pittsburgh Good Government Award, and the YWCA of Greater Pittsburgh Racial Justice Award.

Ms. Taylor is a proud native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. She has four sons and one grandson and resides in Pittsburgh’s North Point Breeze neighborhood. She has been a member of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) for twenty-three years.
